Affected Teaching
In this passage they have omitted “incorruption” which means a person must not be corruptible and to bring the true Gospel to people in a manner which is free from all corruption and false pretense. The Gnostics were doing just that, bringing a false gospel according to their belief system so they would no be able to claim incorruption, so they removed it. If we had more incorruptable preachers, we would not be in a position of every church having their own variety of Gospel, then there would be more unity among Christianity. Since the most of the minority text version are corrupt, I guess it is not much of a leap to allow their users to be corrupt and corruptible.
