- Affected Teaching
- Here at the outset God is commending the
Church at Pergamos for upholding His Name correctly. God
knows the works of this church. This principle also applies
to the individual believer. God knows all of our works and
if we compared our lives to the Scriptures, God would
definitely have a few things against us too. I guess the
Gnostics and the minority text advocates did not feel that
this commendation was worthy to be placed in Scripture so
they omitted it for no given
reason. Maybe they were afraid that God knew
their works too and you can be sure He knows the works of
the minority text advocates and publishers who peddle His
Word for profit. Let us stay with the translations non made
for profit and let our walk be to the complete Scriptures
and not the “doctored” portions.
