Affected Teaching

Here is the section of Scripture where the Lord has all the believers and unbelievers before Him and he contrasts them by stating that the believers had ministered to people while on earth. Then He comes to the unbelievers in verses 42 & 43 telling them that they did no ministry and as a result their lack of works shows their true spiritual condition which results in them being sentenced to an eternity in Hell. In verse 44, the pronoun “him” is used to denote a response to the Lord Himself who makes the statement to the unbelievers. That word “him” shows that there is going to be a direct judgment with many questions. Those responses the unbelievers give are directly in response to the Lord’s queries. When the minority text versions omit “him” they have no source for the questions and, in essence, they are denying the personal judgment of the unbelievers by the Lord Himself. (John 5:22 MLV) For* the Father judges no one, but has given all judgment to the Son; I am definitely sure that the unbelievers who corrupted this verse would love nothing more than to omit the reality that there is coming a personal judgment of all unbelievers.
