Affected Teachings

Here is a young man who had learned the commandments from his parents and was telling Jesus that he had kept them all from the time he was a youth. What this conveys is that a person can keep the letter of the law their entire life and neglect the fact that sin is part of the human nature. Every person is a sinner, even the ones who claim they have kept the law perfectly but that is the outward keeping of the law which could save them during this time (Jewish Law & Old Testament, Covenant)  but not under the New Testament which is what Jesus was shortly going to put into effect with his blood shed at his death. 

Once again the Modern Literal and the King James versions delivers another timeless, namely, eternal truth.
