- Affected Teaching
- Here is a verse which has been subjected to
both sides of the Gnostic hatchet. In the first part of the
verse Jesus is asking the question to His disciples if they
understood the parables which He just taught them. Their
response was “Yes Lord.” If you notice some of the versions
have left out “Jesus said unto them.” This identifies Jesus
as the one asking the question. Then they all omit “Lord”
which is His title of deity by which His disciples are
addressing Him. The Gnostics did not believe that Christ was
the Lord from Heaven so they have deleted His divine title
in this verse. Once again the minority text versions do not
give the complete picture and leaves to speculation, and
chopped up according to unbelievers.
