Gospel According to Mark (MLV)

Mark 3)

(Mk 3:1-6 & Mt 12:9-14 & Lk 6:6-11) Probably Galilee

3:1 And he entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there who had his hand withered. 3:2 And they were observing him, whether he would heal him on the Sabbath day; that they might accuse him. 3:3 And he says to the man who had his hand withered, You in the middle, rise. 3:4 And he says to them, Is it lawful on the Sabbath day to do good or to do evil? To save a life or to kill? But they were silent. 3:5 And he, looking around on them with anger, being totally-grieved at the hardening of their heart, says to the man, Stretch forth your hand. And he stretched it forth; and his hand was restored as healthy as the other. 3:6 And the Pharisees went out and immediately took counsel against him with the Herodians, how they might destroy him.

(Mk 3:7-12 & Mt 12:13-21) Sea of Galilee

3:7 And Jesus with his disciples withdrew to the sea and a great crowd followed him: from Galilee and from Judaea 3:8 and from Jerusalem and from Idumaea and beyond the Jordan and those around Tyre and Sidon. This great crowd, having heard what great things he was doing, came to him. 3:9 And he spoke to his disciples, that a little boat might wait on him because of the crowd, lest they might press-against him: 3:10 for* he had healed many; so-that as many as had disorders fell upon him that* they might touch him. 3:11 And the unclean spirits, whenever they beheld him, fell down before him and cried, saying, You are the Son of God. 3:12 And he prohibited them greatly that they should not make him known.

(Mk 3:13-19 & Lk 6:12-16) Near Capernaum

3:13 And he goes up into the mountain and calls to him whom he wished; and they went to him. 3:14 And he <4>appointed twelve, that they might be with him and that he might send them forth to preach, 3:15 and to have authority to cast out demons: 3:16 and Simon he surnamed Peter; 3:17 and James the son of Zebedee and John the brother of James; and them he surnamed Boanerges, which is, Sons of thunder: 3:18 and Andrew and Philip and Bartholomew and Matthew and Thomas and James the son of Alphaeus and Thaddaeus and Simon the <5>Canaanite, 3:19 and Judas Iscariot, also who delivered him to the Jews.

(Mt 12:38-45)

And they come into their house. 3:20 And a crowd comes together again, so-that they could not so much as eat bread. 3:21 And when his friends heard it, they went out to lay hold on him: for* they said, He is beside himself. 3:22 And the scribes that came down from Jerusalem said, He has Beelzebub, and, By the prince of the demons he is casting out the demons.

3:23 And he having called them, said to them in parables, How is Satan able to cast out Satan? 3:24 And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom is not able to stand. 3:25 And if a house be divided against itself, that house is not be able to stand. 3:26 And if Satan has risen up against himself and has been divided, he is not able to stand, but has an end. 3:27 But no one having entered into the house of the strong man, is able to plunder his goods, unless he first bind the strong man ; and then he will plunder his house. 3:28 Truly I say to you*, All their sins and blasphemes will be forgiven to the sons of men; whatever blasphemies. 3:29 But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit does not have forgiveness forever, but is guilty of an eternal judgement: 3:30 because they said, He has an unclean spirit.

(Mk 3:31-35 & Mt 12:46-50 & Lk 8:19-21)

3:31 And then his brethren and his mother come and standing outside, they sent to him, calling him. 3:32 And a crowd was sitting around him; and they said to him, Behold, your mother and your brethren outside, seek you*. 3:33 And he answered them and saying, Who is my mother or my brethren? 3:34 And having looked around on those who sat around him, he says, Behold, my mother and my brethren! 3:35 For* whoever does the will of God, this one is my brother and sister and mother.
