Gospel According to Mark (MLV)
Mark 11)
(Lk 19:1-28; Jericho)
(Jn 11:55-12:1, 9-11) Bethany March 31- April 1, 30 AD
(Mk 11:1-11 & Mt 21:1-12, 14-17 & Lk 19:29-44 & Jn 12:12-19) Bethany to Jerusalem and back Sun. April 2, 29 AD
11:1 And when they draw near to Jerusalem, to Bethphage and Bethany, toward the Mount of Olives, he sends two of his disciples, 11:2 and says to them, Go your* way into the village that is before you* and immediately as you* enter into it, you* will find a colt tied, upon which <15a>no man has sat; loose it and lead it here. 11:3 And if anyone say to you*, Why do you* do this? You* say, The Lord has need of him; and immediately he sends it here. 11:4 And they went away and found a colt tied at the door outside in the open-street; and they loose him. 11:5 And certain of those who stood there said to them, What do you* do, losing the colt?
11:6 And they said to them just-as Jesus had commanded and they let them leave. 11:7 And they led the colt to Jesus and cast their garments upon it; and he sat upon it. 11:8 And many spread their garments upon the way; and others were cutting down branches from the trees and were spreading them on the way. 11:9 And those who went before and those who followed, cried out, saying, Hosanna; he who comes in the name of the Lord is blessed: 11:10 The kingdom that is coming is blessed, the kingdom of our father David. Hosanna in the highest.
(Mk 11:12-18 & Mt 21:18, 19, 12, 13 & Lk 19:45-48) Road from Bethany to Jerusalem Mon.
11:11 And Jesus entered into Jerusalem and into the temple; and having looked around on all things, already being the evening hour, he went out to Bethany with the twelve.
11:12 And on the next day, when they had come out from Bethany, he hungered. 11:13 And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if perhaps he might find anything on it and when he came to it, he found nothing except leaves; for* it was not the season of figs. 11:14 And Jesus answered and said to it, Let no one eat fruit from you anymore forever. And his disciples heard it.
11:15 And they come to Jerusalem and Jesus entered into the temple and began to cast out those who sold and bought in the temple and overthrew the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those who sold the doves; 11:16 and he did not allow that anyone should carry a vessel though the temple. 11:17 And he taught, saying to them, Has it not been written, 'My house will be called a house of prayer for all the nations? But you* have made it a den of robbers.' {Is. 56:7 and Jer. 7:11} 11:18 And the scribes and the high-priests heard it and sought how they might destroy him: they feared him, because all the crowd was astounded at his teaching.

11:19 And when it became evening, he went forth outside the city. 11:20 And as they passed by in the morning, they saw the fig tree withered away from the roots. 11:21 And Peter remembering says to him, Rabbi, behold, the fig tree which you cursed is withered away.
11:22 And Jesus answering says to them, Have faith in God. 11:23 For* truly I say to you*, Whoever says to this mountain, Be taken up and cast into the sea; and will not doubt in his heart, but will believe that what he says happens; he will have whatever he says. 11:24 Therefore I say to you*, All things whatever you* will ask for, when you* pray, believe that you* receive them and you* will have them. 11:25 And whenever you* stand praying, forgive, if you* have anything against any one; that your* Father also who is in heaven may forgive you* your* trespasses. 11:26 But if you* do not forgive, neither will your* Father who is in heaven forgive your* trespasses.
(Mk 11:27-33 & Mt 21:23-27 & Lk 20:1-8) Court of the Temple, Tues.
(Mt 21:28-32)
11:27 And they come again to Jerusalem and as he was walking in the temple, there come to him the high-priests and the scribes and the elders; 11:28 and they say to him, By what authority do you do these things? And who gave you this authority?
11:29 And Jesus answering, said to them, I will also ask you* one <16>question and answer me and I will tell you* by what authority I do these things. 11:30 The immersion* of John, was it from heaven or from men? Answer me.
11:31 And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we say, From heaven; He will say, Why then did you* not believe him? 11:32 But should we say, From men? (They feared the people: all truly held John to be indeed a prophet.)
11:33 And they answering, say to Jesus, We do not know. And Jesus answering, says to them, Neither do I tell you* by what authority I do these things.
