[John 17]
17:1 Jesus spoke these things, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour has come; glorify your Son, that* your Son may also glorify you*: 17:2 just-as you gave him authority over all flesh, that* to all whom you have given him, he will give eternal life to them. 17:3 And this is eternal life, that* they should know you, the only true God, and him whom you did send, Jesus Christ. 17:4 I glorified you on the earth. I accomplished the work which you have given me that* I should be doing. 17:5 And now, Father, you glorify me with yourself with the glory which I had with you before the world was. 17:6 I manifested your name to the men whom you have given me out of the world. They were yours and you gave them to me, and they have kept your word. 17:7Now they have known that all things whatever you have given me, are from you*: 17:8 because the words which you gave me I have given to them, and they received them and do truly know that I came forth from you and they believed that you sent me.
17:9 I request concerning them. Ido not request concerning the world, but concerning those whom you have given to me; because they are yours: 17:10 and all things that are mine are yours and yours are mine and I am glorified in them. 17:11 And I am no more in the world and these are in the world and I come to you*. Holy Father, keep them in your name whom you have given me, that* they may be one, just-as we are one. 17:12 While I was with them in the world, I was keeping them in your name whom you have given me. I guarded them and not one out of them perished, except the son of destruction; in order that the Scripture might be fulfilled. 17:13 But now I am coming to you, and I speak these things in the world, that* they may have my joy made full in themselves. 17:14 I have given them your word, and the world hated them, because they are not of*the world, just-as I am not of* the world.
17:15 I do not request that* you should take them from the world, but that* you should keep them from the Evil One. 17:16 They are not of* the world just-as I am not of* the world. 17:17 Sanctify them in the truth: your word is truth. 17:18 As you did send me into the world, even so I sent them into the world. 17:19 And I sanctify myself on behalf of them, that* they themselves may also be sanctified in truth.
17:20 I do not request concerning these only, but concerning those who also believe in me through their word; 17:21 that* they may all be one; like you, Father, are in me and I in you, that*they may also be one in us: that the world may believe that you did send me. 17:22 And the glory which you have given me I have given to them; that* they may be one, just-as we are one; 17:23 I in them and you in me, that* they may be perfected into one and that* the world may know that you did send me and you loved* them, just-as you loved* me. 17:24 Father, I wish that* they, whom you have given me, may also be with me where I am, that* they may view my glory, which you gave me; because you loved* me before the conception of the world. 17:25 O righteous Father, the world did not know you, but I knew you, and these knew that you did send me; 17:26 and I made known to them your name and will make it known; that* the love* with which you loved* me may be in them and I in them.
