The Acts: Book of Conversions (MLV)
Acts 3)
3:1 Now Peter and John were going up into the temple at the ninth hour the hour of prayer. 3:2 And a certain man who was lame from his mother's womb was carried there, whom they laid daily at the door of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of those who entered into the temple. 3:3 He, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked to receive alms. 3:4 And Peter, with John staring toward him, said, Look toward us. 3:5 And he took-heed of them, expecting to receive something from them. 3:6 But Peter said, Silver and gold I have none; but what I have, that I give to you*. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk. 3:7 And he took him by the right hand and raised him up and instantly his feet and his ankle-bones were strengthened. 3:8 And leaping up, he stood and began to walk; and he entered with them into the temple, walking and leaping and praising God. 3:9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God. 3:10 And they took knowledge of him, that it was he who sat for alms at the Beautiful Gate of the temple; and they were filled with amazement and astonishment at what had happened to him.
3:11 And as the lame man who had been healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together to them in the porch that is called Solomon's, utterly-amazed. 3:12 And when Peter saw it, he answered to the people, You* men of Israel, why do you* marvel at this man? Or why do you* stare at us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made him able to walk? 3:13 The God of Abraham and of Isaac and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his manservant Jesus; whom you* delivered up and denied before the face of Pilate, when he had decided to release him. 3:14 But you* denied the Holy and Righteous One and asked for a murderer to be granted to you*, 3:15 and killed the Prince of life; whom God raised from the dead; of which we are witnesses. 3:16 And upon faith in his name, this man whom you* behold and know, his name has strengthened him. Yes, the faith which is through him has given him this wholeness of body in the presence of you* all. 3:17 And now, brethren, I know that in ignorance you* did it, as did also your* rulers. 3:18 But the things which God proclaimed beforehand by the mouth of all the prophets, that his Christ should suffer, he thus fulfilled. 3:19 You* repent therefore and turn again, that your* sins may be blotted out, so that there may come seasons of refreshing from the presence of the Lord; 3:20 and he may send Jesus Christ who has been appointed beforehand for you*: 3:21 whom the heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, of which God spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets that have been from of old. 3:22 Moses indeed said,
A prophet will the Lord God raise up to you* from among your* brethren, like* me. You* will listen to him in all things whatever he speaks to you*. 3:23 And it will be, that every soul whoever does not listen to that prophet, will be utterly destroyed from among the people.
3:24 Yes and all the prophets from Samuel and those who followed after, as many as have spoken, they also told of these days. 3:25 You* are the sons of the prophets and of the covenant which God covenanted with your* fathers, saying to Abraham,
And in your seed will all the families of the earth be blessed.
3:26 God, having raised up his manservant Jesus, sent him to you* first, to bless you*, in turning away every one of you* from your* wickednesses.
