Heb. 2: 11 

I. PEOPLE OFTEN ACT IN SUCH A WAY AS TO MAKE OTHERS ASHAMED OF THEM 

1. Nation ashamed of Benedict Arnold  2. Congregation ashamed of drunken member, etc  3. Parents ashamed of unruly children  II. WE MAY ACT SO THAT THE LORD WILL BE ASHAMED OF US  1. If we deny Him. Matt. 10:32,33, Lu. 12:8,9  2. If we are ashamed of Him. Mark. 8:38  3. If we are ashamed of His words. Mk. 8:38; Ro. 1:16  4. If we are workers of iniquity. Mt. 7:23 III. THE LORD WILL NOT BE ASHAMED OF US IF:  1. We do what He tells us. Lu. 6:46  2. We believe what He has told us. John 14:1-4  3. We repent and turn toward Him. Lu. 13:3, Ac. 17:30  4. We confess that He is the Christ. Matt. 10:32  5. We are baptized into His name. Matt. 28:19,20  6. We follow in His steps. 1 Pet. 2:21 IV. HE COULD EASILY BECOME ASHAMED OF:  1. Some elders  2. Some deacons  3. Some preachers  4. Some worldly minded members V. SHAME AND EVERLASTING CONTEMPT FOR SOME. Dan. 12:2
