Heb. 13:1
Introduction: Love could not continue unless it had once been manifest.
I. THESE JEWISH BRETHREN HAD LOVED EACH OTHER:
1. In former days. Heb. 10:32-.96
2. Had distributed to necessity of saints. Act. 2:44,45
3. Had become companions of persecuted. Heb. 10:32
4. Their first love had been pure indeed
II. HOW SHOULD WE LOVE OUR BRETHREN?
1. With pure hearts fervently. I Pet. 1:22
2. In deed and in truth. 1 John 3:17,18
3. Without hypocrisy. Rom. 12:9; 1 Pet. 1:22
4. With an earnest care. 2 Cor. 8:16
III. WHY SHOULD WE LOVE OUR BROTHER?
1. Christ died for him. I Cor. 8:11
2. We are of God. I John 4:7
3. Because God loved us. 1 John 4:11
4. To save him. Matt. 18:15-17; James 5:19,20
5. To save ourselves. 1 John 3:14,15
IV. WHAT DOES LOVE DO?
1. Covers multitude of sins. I Pet. 4:8
2. Thinks no evil of a brother. 1 Cor. 13:5
3. Binds brethren together. Col. 3:14; Col. 2:2
V. BROTHERLY LOVE DEMANDS THAT WE BE:
1. Forbearing. Col. 3:13; Eph. 4:2
2. Forgiving. Col. 3:13; Matt. 18:35 S. Tenderhearted. Eph. 4:32;
2 Pet. 1:7
