Question:

I came across your teaching with "The Meekness of Moses" tonight by a Google search: "moses meekest man." I am beginning a study on chutzpah and faith for my career in business, specifically sales. I Googled the search term because if chutzpah is a part of biblical faith then my understanding of meekness and humility are distorted.

My question is this: do you have a similar study on humility?

By way of a quick background: I have been in the business world for many years, but my degree is in Bible and I served on staff in local churches before entering the business world. I noticed you have the Logos / Libronix link on your site. I purchased the Logos 4 Original Languages package a few months ago. I am finding time here and there to dig in and use it.

Answer:

Since chutzpah is defined as "unbelievable gall; insolence; audacity" and "nearly arrogant courage; utter audacity, effrontery or impudence; supreme self-confidence," it isn't what I would put on a list of Christian characteristics. Boldness and confidence which comes from trust in God would be what a Christian strives for.

For lessons which deal with humility, take a look at:

I actually don't use Logos. I have numerous friends who think it is wonderful. I've seen it used, but I've found the price tag too high for my budget. Still, they provided a very useful and free tool that I'm using on this site and if others can make use of it, I'm happy to be of service to them.

Thanks.
