Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego
Introduction: Interestingly the story of these three men is in a way comparable to that of Daniel. They are men whom would not worship Idols, and paid a price, but were delivered by their faith in God.
      I.   The Story
Daniel 2:49-4:3 - Daniel recommends after interpreting the King’s dream that these men be promoted. Promotion occurs, and then punishment for serving one God.
      II.   Other Gods
Exodus 23:13 – Don’t mention other Gods

Deuteronomy 5:7 – Have none others before him

Deuteronomy 7:4-6 – The punishment of such

Matthew 4:8-11 – Satan tried this with Christ

Ephesians 4:6 – There is but ONE God

Matthew 22:36-37 – The greatest commandment

       
      III.   He is able to deliver us – Daniel 3:17
As he did Israel – Exodus 18:10-11

We should pray to be delivered from evil – Matthew 6:10-15

Deliverance is in salvation – Psalms 79:9 – which is in the blood of Christ Matthew 26:28

It is through Christ we are delivered from sin – Galatians 1:3-5

We are delivered from darkness into the Kingdom of Christ – Colossians 3:13-18
 

Conclusion: We need to be faithful and not fall to Satan’s devices at any time! We need to remember that whatever we may face on this earth for being servants of God is nothing like we would face (Revelation 21:8) if we were not!
