HEAVEN OR HELL?
Brian Yeager

Life is filled with many joyful choices.  What will I wear today?  What shall we have for dinner?  Where will we go for vacation?  The question that yet that should be on everyone’s mind is, where will I spend my eternity?  Should I choose Heaven or Hell?  This article is to layout the choice.  This article will allow you to make an educated choice.  Heaven or Hell, you choose.

Let us take a scriptural look at our two choices.  The first would be eternity in Heaven. (Matthew 25:46) And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.  Then we get through John’s vision a glimpse into Heaven.  (Revelation 21:1-7) And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.  And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.  And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.  And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.  And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.  And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.  He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.  The requirement to enter into this great place is simply to remain faithful unto death.  (Revelation 2:10) Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.

Our second choice is not quite as pleasing as our first.  The second place is known as hell.  To understand this place we have a glimpse into the realm of Hades, which is also known to be the waiting place.  Hear the words of the Rich Man.  (Luke 16:19-31) There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.  And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.  And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.  But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.  And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.  Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house: For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.  Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.  And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.  And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.  Hear the plea that Rich Man wanted his family to hear DO NOT COME TO THIS TORMENT!  Choose today lest your life might be taken in death or Christ might come that your choice would no longer be yours to make!  Where will you spend your eternity?
